Noooooo…

Rachael Ray gets yet another “cooking” show.
Someone, please, make it stop.

Perl is 20

Coolness. The first version of my personal favorite of a programming language was released twenty years ago today. It would be difficult to gauge just how many caffeinated all-nighters I’ve spent in the company of this fine critter. Thanks, Larry.

Of Billionaires

The top 1 percent of households — average income $1.5 million — will save a collective $79.5 billion on their 2008 taxes, reports Citizens for Tax Justice. That’s more than the combined budgets of the Transportation Department, Small Business Administration, Environmental Protection Agency and Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Until 2005, multimillionaires could still make the Forbes list of the 400 richest Americans. In 2006, the Forbes 400 went billionaires only.

Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you mad.

Puzzle Time!

(This is lifted directly from Brain-fun.com.)

Einstein’s Logic Puzzle
So you want a hard brain teaser! Well, here it is. It’s purported that Einstein said 98% of the world’s population could not figure out this logic problem. Try your hand at it.

There are 5 houses each with a different color. Their owners, each with a unique heritage, drinks a certain type of beverage, smokes a certain brand of cigarette, and keep a certain variety of pet. None of the owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigarette or drink the same beverage.Clues:

  • The Brit lives in the red house.
  • The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
  • The Dane drinks tea.
  • The green house is just to the left of the white house.
  • The green house’s owner drinks coffee.
  • The person who smokes Pall Malls raises birds.
  • The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
  • The man living in the center house drinks milk.
  • The Norwegian lives in the first house.
  • The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
  • The man who keeps a horse lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
  • The owner who smokes Bluemasters also drinks beer.
  • The German smokes Prince.
  • The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
  • The man who smokes Blends has a neighbor who drinks water.

Who owns the fish?

Solution is here.

Dropping money from helicopters

There’s a good article in the Washington Post about what happened this week in the global economy. Rough ride ahead.

And here we go…

I decided to go w/ WordPress; you’ve seen it all over if you read blogs a lot, and it’s available through my ISP with a minimal hassle installation. Works for me.

The look will certainly change; I’ll get it tweaked until it feels comfortable. I may just duplicate the old look and feel.

Anyway, be the first to add an account and leave a comment. There can be only one…
