Epistemic Ingemination

Welcome.

I’m an endothermic bipedal bilaterally symmetrical omnivorous quintagenarian primate, proud member of the family hominidae. The single Dad of an amazing, gentle-hearted mid-teens son; we try to figure it out. All in all, it’s pretty okay.

My predilections include music, audio engineering, various computer geekeries, physics, philosophy, speculative metaphysics, cooking, astronomy, oddball mathematics, gardening, cosmology, writing, reading, and trying to be a good father and a kind man. I also exhibit a tendency to indulge to varying (and variegated) degree in a wide smorgasbord of human appetites, including liberal politics, nicotine, cue games, always much caffeine, good home cooked food, ethanol, faithful friendship, breathless urgent monogamy, swimming, scrabble, poker, afternoon naps, good conversation, learning, laughter, and lovin’.

I telecommute big Unix server computer stuff out of the house by day, and I do audio production for various folks by night. I also play keyboards with some folks occasionally, produce some sessions now and then, and try to facilitate genius when I can. I occasionally trick someone into paying me for some wordsmithery.

As far as the people that I like to have in my life? Gimme some grown, kind, honest, wickedsmart, übercompetent self-aware hungry-for-life earthy people who are brilliant at something, whatever that something might be.

I like to be around creative people who take life in big bites. Folks who are not afraid to expose their heart, follow it, and enjoy magnificent victories (and make huge embarrassing public bonehead errors) with gusto and grace and savoir-faire.

I don’t have much patience with people who are ill-mannered and/or abusive and/or just plain mean. I feel no particular obligation to honor whatever their miswired vision of the world might be. And I am happy to offer them my, shall we say, helpful assistance in actively encouraging them to discover and incorporate new techniques in interpersonal communication. Heh. If you think that life is a zero-sum game, there’s no place for you here. Go back 20,000 years, where you belong.

Sleep peacefully and awake with enthusiasm, human race. Enjoy being here, calm down for Pete’s sake, let it go. Whatever the crisis was back then, it’s gone now. Relax. Love fearlessly, be kind, allow yourself to be loved, stroll through this life we share with compassion and, above all, Get Through Your Day Harming No One.
