Yeh, okay

This one, too, apparently.

You two are right; it might be the best.

Enough with 2006; it was a year of extremes. Let's shoot the middle now, shall we?

So, The "Votes" Are In...

2006, Best Of Blog, as voted by y'all (as I archive the 2006 email collection):

3) Folk Alliance Wrap up

2) Birthday

1) Breakup

FWIW... I liked the soundman thingy, and by far the rest of the world did too; it was the most read by almost an order of magnitude. This list is the "by email response" version.

Thanks. As I grow older, I hope to be more substantive.

Poor George

Truthout has a great article on Dubya's psychology; it rings true. I left it with the small epiphany: that I've always known this fool; he's the guy who stomped on frogs down at the creek and beat up on smaller (never larger) children when we were kids. There are a million of 'em out there, bur they rarely achieve any kind of power. Too bad for us.

Just A Leetle Commentary

The "iPhone" is all over every geeky site that I frequent; Digg, Slash, Meta, Boing, etc, etc.

My lord, save me from the iConsumers and their orgy of worship at the Altar Of Jobs.

Change your underwear and get a life, little well-behaved Apple consumers. Your cell phone works just fine. Spend the money on some new trendy horn-rimmed glasses and an emo cut.

Snow?

This is borderline insane to all of you Yankees and Deutschlanders who regularly read this thing, I know, but you have to understand that it snows in Austin about once a decade.

And I am happily recalling that there are few pleasures more relaxing than sitting out in a dead-silent night, sipping hot coffee and watching those beautiful flakes falling gently through the trees.

Have a warm and peaceful winter's eve, friends.

Through The Glass, Darkly

I'm not sure what to call this article. An exposé on the state of religious fundamentalism in The U.S.? In any case, it is long, it's comprehensive, and it is very much worth every citizen's time, religious or not. I'd be inclined to put it in the required reading category.

Sir. Step away from the blog, Sir.

I'm retooling a bunch of stuff, and I won't be writing anything for awhile. Check back monthly. :)
