Not a lot to report. Life coming at me, lifelike, not unlike blinding hot radioactive shrapnel. Heh.

I guess that I've been on a vacation from writing; kind of in damage control mode all month. July has been a veritable parade of little irritating annoyances and breakdowns, none very difficult to deal with, each of which costs a little bit of money, all of 'em constantly draining the reserves, and of course, the derivative constancy of playing financial catch-up. This being the wettest year in Austin in the historical record—well, since we were under a Cretaceous era sea, I guess—it's rained every day that I've worked at the club; I've been coming home looking like a mud wrestler every night. And on top of that I am still quitting smoking. That conjugation of the verb "quit" should be long-past tense by now, but, heck, I'm down to less than half of what I'd been doing for the last thirty years or so. Progress of a sort. Soon come.

Cleaning house, being domestic, drinking a lot of output from the juicer, swimming and bike riding when I can, reading my beloved political blogs and such every day, eating well, enjoying living lean for the most part. Utterly unremarkable, in other words. Hope that all of you are well.
